The almond moon begins the Almond harvest in the heart of summer. 

Festival of Song | 15th | Local Festival #

The Festival of Song helps break up the hard labor during the hottest part of the growing season. Groups of adults and children put on musical performances. Families and friends picnic together on Kahal Square or out in orchards under orange trees. Popular foods include Almond Cherry Cakes glazed in Orange Marmalade, White Garlic Soup dotted with melon balls, eggplant relish with crackers, and sweet mint tea. Children often run around and dance to the music or get swept ad hoc into the performances.
