House of Study

The House of Study is where all learned people go to study and discuss The Word and holy topics. It is an open hall filled with books and tables.

It is also where the town’s children attend school after lunch. All of the town’s children learn reading, writing, math, and Avodai teachings up to the age of 13. In adolescence, they find an apprenticeship or help with the family business. Those who wish to go deeper will often study with the Reba for religious studies, locally or traveling afar, or they continue their education at the Terida Avodai School, after which they can attend a secular university.

The House of Study is filled with ardent and boisterous debates, especially during the lunch hour and after the day’s labors are complete. In the evening, some folks are known to bring hard cider and wine into the hall to invigorate the discussion. Many elders will also spend their days in the hall, both for study and gossip.
