The House of Healing is a great pride of our community. Located a half mile from the village, it is the largest piece of land owned communally. Nurit bet Faisel v’ Yuri, blessed be her memory, a wealthy Avodai merchant, purchased the land and bequeathed it to the Society of Rafa. Its private library has one of the largest collections in botany and medicine in the region, along with food crops to sustain the Rafa and provide charity to the poorest members of the community during hard times. It also has an extensive garden of medicinal herbs maintained by the Rafa Apothecaries and other Rafas.
