Most characters speak at least three languages: Loña, Devrit, and Marsoña. They may also speak other languages depending on their background, for example if your character has lived elsewhere. You can find such languages in the neighboring countries, but they are omitted here.

Loña #

The common tongue spoken by Avodai across the region. This is the primary language spoken in Kahal.

Devrit #

The sacred language of the Avodai, used extensively in worship and scholarship. Most Avodai can read and pronounce Devrit even if they cannot converse fluently.

Marsoña #

The official language of Markes and the language of the general populace. Non-Avodai characters (Lumdai) in the City of Terida often only know this language.

Shadow Tongue #

An expressive language built from magical shadow puppets and symbology.  If you are deaf or non-speaking, add Shadow Puppet as an extra skill; you do not need to expend energy for said skill, as it is as natural as moving to you.
