Za’halem #
Za’halem was once the center of the Ehelemi Empire. It is known for its intricate architecture, science, fine crafts, and world-wide trade network. Their food is flavorful and delicious.
For the most part the state allows Lumdai and Avodai to live peacefully with communal self-governance as long as they pay extra taxes and do not wear silk. On the other hand, N’emdai face campaigns of forced conversion.
Seira #
- State Religion: Lumdai
- Other Religions: N/A
- Language: Seirsi
- Capital: Lariso
Seira is the center of arts and culture in the Lumdai world. The Markesi nobility looks to Seira for their extravagant fashions. The country is not known for their friendliness to the Avodai and have yet to lift their own Writ of Expulsion against the Avodai.
Aria #
- State Religion: Lumdai
- Other Religions: Avodai
- Language: Ria
- Capital: Oren
Auria produces fine wines and (for the non-Avodai) a cuisine filled with supposed delicacies made of animal flesh. Recently Auria passed a law enshrining Auria Avodai as citizens with equal rights under their law. Their formal citizenry is a wonderful development, but as part of the assimilation Avodai lost all communal governance rights. I personally celebrate their acceptance while cautiously monitoring unintended consequences of this loss of autonomy.
Fida #
- State Religion: Lumdai
- Other Religions: Avodai
- Language: Fidiano
- Capital: Cartina
Fida is a Lumdai-dominated country along the southeast coast. They are known for their fishing and holiday destinations for the wealthy.
Jiwali #
- State Religion: N/A
- Other Religions: N’emdai, Akdai, Avodai
- Language: Geven’u
- Capital: Lamado
To Zalahem’s west is Jiwali, whose people mainly practice N’emdai, with a large Akdhai minority in its eastern region. Jiwali people are expert farmers and herders. They also produce renown fabrics and rugs. Za’halem occasionally tries to annex eastern Jiwali, but Jiwali always fights to maintain its independence.
Ny’olir #
- State Religion: N/A
- Other Religions: N’emdai
- Language: Geven’u
- Capital: Mika
Nyo’lir is also predominantly N’emdai. There is an ancient Avodai community in Nyo’lir that has lived there since before the fall of our homeland of Freka. I have always wanted to visit our kinfolk there as they have ancient traditions unique to only their community.
Ny’olir is a dry sandy country at the edge of the Ramla Desert. Therefore, most people live in small rural communities, where they survive off their expert shepherding, hunting, and farming skills.
Za’rima #
- State Religion: Akdai
- Other Religions: N’emdai
- Language: El-Aylaya
- Capital: Zuli
Za’rima is an Ahkdai-dominated country to Za’halem’s east. Most of the country is covered by the Ramla Desert and the Altir Mountains. Therefore, most people live in small nomadic nations who are central to the trade of the region. The nomadic nations have little respect for national borders.
