One early morning, Scholar Bina accompanied me to harvest herbs in the Altir mountains that her friends, the Frog Scholars, say must be picked before sunrise. We took a break to watch the sunrise on a ledge halfway up the mountain. Suddenly I saw the most beautiful creature I have ever seen. At first I thought it was a rainbow until I noticed that the colors were formed of shining scales and the creature had a crocodile head. Bina swears that it actually had two heads, but I did not see a second. We counted and it had 12 wings and a tail like a lion. Neither of us noticed any legs. It sang the most beautiful song in harmony with the Phoenix to welcome the morning. All the birds joined in the beautiful song.
