Rafa choose a specialty when they graduate from their apprenticeship, most often at eighteen. Each specialty has different focuses and advantages. Your specialty does not stop you from learning any particular healing spells or other skills, but you can gain greater expertise in skills within your specialty. 

In the game, you will be responsible for caring for all patients and challenges, regardless of your specialty. A Rafa Circle should aim to balance their characters’ specialties and skills for the best time.

Physician #

Physicians are experts in diagnosing and treating illnesses of ordinary and spirit origins. Their role is to manage the everyday care of patients with a focus on prevention of illness. 

Surgeon #

Surgeons treat major injuries, damaged organs, and tumors. Complicated surgeries could keep them on their feet all day and use every ounce of energy they have. They also serve as dentists.

Shepherd of Souls #

Shepherds of Souls guide people’s journey to the world to come. They are experts in exorcism and communicating with the dead. A cat-shaped Messenger of Death accompanies them in their work.

Midwife #

Midwives care for pregnant people, infants, and the reproductive health of all genders. The nature of their work gives them a flexible, eclectic skillset. 

Apothecary #

Apothecaries are specialists in plants and herbal remedies. They create complex herbal remedies to promote health and cure disease. 

Counselor #

Counselors focus on patients’ mental and emotional health. They are also key negotiators between the local spirits and humans.
