Physical Traits #
Think about what your character looks like, including eye color, hair, height, and build. After living in diaspora with communities and connections across the world, the Avodai are a racially diverse people. There is no one way that an Avodai looks.
Disabilities #
As in any community, many people in Kahal have disabilities, including Rafas. Do you have any disabilities? What disability aids do you use? Consider how your disability influences your work and perspective on life and healing. It can be very rewarding to roleplay.
Consider alternative ways your character may have learned to live with their disabilities. Discrimination still exists, but the community of Kahal is very accommodating towards disabled members. Accommodations are always costless to the players, whether in terms of life energy or money.
Deaf and non-speaking people communicate using Shadow Tongue, an expressive language built from magical shadow puppets and symbology. Therefore, deaf and non-speaking characters have “Shadow Puppet” for free without the need to roll or expend extra energy. You don’t need to rely on a preselected list of Rafa Skills that are sanctioned for accommodations, use any appropriate for your character.
Those with physical and energy disabilities often use walking chairs to get around. A blind Rafa might hire a House Gnome who often lives in human homes, to guide them in their duties. A person who struggles with reading or writing may hire a human or House Gnome scribe or may focus on experiential learning instead of book learning.
